Project Port of Skellefteå 2020

Skellefteå hamn has earlier found that the lack of storage space and the draughtsituation in the present portarea is to small /shallow. The Port has toghether with Skellefteå Kommun applied for funding from the European Regional Development fond and is allowed with a maximum fund of 49 million swedish kronor. The port is financing 50% ofh the total investment and European Regional Development fond the remaining 50%.

The projekt Skellefteå Hamn 2020 consists of several subproject.

1. Landfill in the new north port

2. Railterminal north port

3. Warehouse

4. Storage areas, south port

5. Dredging present port basin

6. Refurbished concrete jetty

7. Pipelines, roadcrossing, North port

8. New siding and catchingdeck, North port

9. Building for cooling water, oil terminal

10. Perimeter protection, North port

Kommunens investeringar i hamnområdet finansieras till 50 % från EU: s regionala utvecklingsfond och skapar förutsättningar för att fler typer av gods kan lassas och lossas samt att antal transporter kan öka. Även miljövinsterna blir betydande med en större och djupare hamn. Långa transporter på land, från bland annat industrier och sågverk, kan undvikas då godset istället skeppas i närområdet. Efter avslutat projekt förväntas en uppdaterad hamn som är hållbar för sin omgivning och en bra transport- och logistiklösning för regionens näringsliv.

Aboard BAUS

The tugboat Baus entered our business in 2012. The tugboat is modified and upgraded to fit Port of Skellefteås needs, which differs from the ship’s previous service.
