Refueling

The Port of Skellefteå offers refueling services for both traditional and more sustainable fuels. With LNG and LBG now available on-site, we are taking an important step toward greener shipping in the Gulf of Bothnia.

At the Port of Skellefteå, ships can refuel while berthed at the dock. In addition to traditional marine fuels such as MK1, MGO, MDO, and ULSFO, the port will also offer refueling of liquefied LNG and LBG starting in the fall of 2025.

The Port of Skellefteå is the first port in northern Sweden to offer LNG/LBG refueling – a step toward more sustainable and climate-smart transportation.

All refueling at the port is done from truck to ship (shore-to-ship).
